According to Irasin, speaking at a panel session during the Dubai International Steel Conference, Majid Fakhari highlighted Mobarakeh Steel Group’s leading role in the domestic market, noting that the group is the primary supplier for a wide range of industries including construction and infrastructure, fluid transmission pipelines, automotive, home appliances, and packaging. Beyond domestic demand, Mobarakeh Steel Group exports approximately 2 million tons of products annually to international markets. These exports have been instrumental in maintaining Iran’s position as the world’s third- or fourth-largest exporter of slab steel in recent years, with the group playing a central role in this achievement.
Discussing the company’s development plans, Fakhari said: “To meet growing domestic demand and strengthen our global presence, we are implementing a targeted plan to expand capacity across the entire flat steel production chain. This program is not only focused on increasing production volume but also on producing high value-added specialty products.”
He went on to explain that a comprehensive product development roadmap has been created based on systematic market research and analysis of technological trends in downstream industries. “Our goal is to meet both current and future market needs,” Fakhari said. “After technical and economic evaluations, new products are identified, prioritized, and then move into the design and production phases.”
The Sales Planning and Product Delivery Manager noted that in the past year, Mobarakeh Steel Group successfully designed, produced, and commercialized about 14 new products, primarily for the automotive, oil and gas, and home appliance sectors. Roughly 27% of the group’s output last year consisted of high value-added specialty products, and the target for the current year is to raise that share to 30%.
Emphasizing the importance of innovation, Fakhari stated: “We are committed to investing in advanced technologies and R&D to enhance product quality and efficiency. In parallel, we are strengthening regional and international partnerships to gain access to new markets.”
He concluded: “The combination of these initiatives — capacity expansion, focus on high value-added products, investment in advanced technologies, and expansion of global partnerships — enables both Mobarakeh Steel Group and Iran’s steel industry to remain competitive and secure higher positions in global rankings.”
