“MSC was not able to fulfill its full capacity in the past two months due to severe power restrictions,” said Hamidreza Azimian in an interview with Foolad. “However, as soon as the restrictions were lifted, we increased our production activities and managed to set a daily production record of 146 smelting batches (26,100 tons of slabs) in the shortest possible time. The previous record was set on April 20 at 144 batches (25,950 tons of slabs).”

“Such numbers are more significant to those who are familiar with the industry,” continued Azimian. “However, to make it more understandable for the public who are not familiar with steel industry concepts, this means a production of 8.5 million tons of steel per year. Given that the annual production objective for this complex, considering predicted restrictions, was set at 7.2 million tones, it is significant that the company was able to increase production capacity to the extent of a new steel plant (equivalent to the capacity of Saba Steel Complex or Hormozgan Steel) without adding any new equipment. However, the realization of this amount of production depends on the full supply of all production inputs.”
